Marie-Agnès and Jean-Marc (a retired farmer) welcome you to their charming 1940s home, meticulously renovated (an extension of a beautifully restored 19th-century farmhouse, which they also live in). Perched like a lookout and panoramic balcony on a sunny south-facing hillside overlooking the renowned sanctuary city of the Sacred Heart, it offers peace and tranquility nestled amidst the meadows, bordering idyllic pastures and fields (with the peaceful local cows as close neighbors in season). Located on a small family farm (run by the owners' son, who raises Charolais cattle), the property sits within a scattered residential hamlet overlooking the town. A stone's throw from all shops & services as well as the gentle "Parodienne" countryside preserved around (largely protected in various Natura 2000 & ZNIEFF zones for its rich fauna & flora), nestled in the heart of the green valley of the Bourbince & its fish-filled river, in the hollow of a bucolic hilly plateau of wooded bocage meadows dotted with ponds, not far from beautiful wild forests (including the "Bois des Aisances" rich in many small paths for relaxing walks in the undergrowth). A major center of Romanesque art, located in a "Land of Art and History" nestled on the banks of the famous Canal du Centre, Paray-le-Monial boasts a truly exceptional heritage (the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, dating from the late 11th century, a masterpiece of Romanesque art and the best-preserved example of Cluniac architecture in Burgundy; the Eucharistic Museum of the Hiéron, the oldest museum of sacred art in France, etc.) and offers numerous amenities, including sports and leisure facilities. The cottage is comfortable and has a warm, rustic charm with contemporary touches. It is very bright and airy, with a large, open-plan living area that opens onto the surrounding landscape. A spacious, intimate balcony-terrace, carefully landscaped with plants and flowers, offers a superb, unobstructed view of the town and its basilica, both day and night, and also boasts magnificent sunsets. A large, well-maintained gravel courtyard adjoins the cottage, serving as a natural pétanque court.
Composition: Access to the property is via a 200m dirt track suitable for vehicles. The cottage is attached to the owners' house on a small family farm, offering complete privacy and seclusion. It includes Wi-Fi (fiber optic) and gas central heating. The cottage is on the first floor and comprises a kitchen/living/dining room (with a double sofa bed 140x190cm), one bedroom (with a double bed 140x190cm), a shower room, and a separate WC. There is also a balcony/terrace (35m²), a natural pétanque court in the courtyard, and private parking. All amenities are 1.5 km away, and supermarkets are 2.5 km away.
